Word Of Mercy

In 2009, at the age of 37, heart disease radically crippled me, mutilated me, and transformed me into a completely dependent, almost hopeless woman. I deeply mourned the loss of my four limbs for years, but gradually I began to appreciate the gift of life itself.

I became aware that heart disease is a major global public health challenge, especially in developing countries, and that it is responsible for one-third of all deaths worldwide. Moreover, many people die without fighting for their lives. I believe that my experience could be a catalyst and testimony in the face of this enormous health challenge.

I lost my hands and legs, but not my voice. With that voice, I can mobilize others and help the many people, especially women, suffering from heart disease who often lack sufficient knowledge of the disease and the available treatment options and lack the means to pay for them. This is the purpose of the Mercy Azoh-Mbi Heart Foundation.

I invite you to join us in this fight to raise awareness and prevent heart disease, because in doing so, we can touch and transform lives. We are comforted by the opportunity to become comforters.

Perhaps you will become a member of the Foundation. Perhaps you will make suggestions to help us better achieve our mission. Perhaps you will volunteer to help out in our administrative services or at events. Perhaps you will volunteer to do front-line field work in a developing country. Perhaps you will be able to help financially. Your contribution can help make this work sustainable and even expand it from community to community, and from country to country, so that people do not die needlessly from heart disease.

Thank you for your contribution and commitment to making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of others.
